Election 2004: The Urban Legend
“Michael Collins has added substantially to what we know about the chilling reality of E2004, numbers that don’t add up to a legitimate election no matter how they are sliced. His “Election 2004: The Urban Legend” is a blockbuster, an analytical romp through the oddest numbers that were never brought to light, never questioned. And boy is there ever something wrong with this picture. Mark Crispin Miller (Author “Fooled Again: How the Right Stole the 2004 Election & Why They’ll Steal the Next One Too (Unless We Stop Them)”)
Election Fraud: Where’s the Outrage? Ernest Partridge. The mainstream media have been virtually silent about the issue of election fraud. The Democratic Party, the principle victim of the fraud (apart, that is, from the American voters), won’t touch the issue, Instead, the issue has been kept alive through the internet and the independent and self-financed efforts of a few determined individuals and citizen-based organizations. And now, startling new evidence has been published, not in the US but in New Zealand, offering further proof that the 2004 Presidential Election was stolen.
“Of all the Unanswered Questions of this decade, the one that will not go away is ‘Has George W. Bush ever won a Presidential election?’ After many years of fearless reporting on U.S. voter fraud, Scoop has scooped again. Based on Michael Collins’ in depth analysis of voting results and exit pools, Scoop has made a compelling case in ‘Election 2004: The Urban Legend’ that the legitimacy of the current Administration is in question.”

The Unanswered Question: Who Really Won In 2004? July 18,2005

Michael, enjoy your research and writing. A friend and I have been talking about doing a website called Fight the Plutocracy. It would have several functions, the obvious one to inform and educate those with Leftist Values about the nature of the plutocracy, statistics, and how it functions to control congress. Lots of resources out there as you are much more aware of, I am sure. Do not know how much you agree with statistics of Dumhoff, author of Who Rules America, a sociologist at Santa Cruz, I believe. Wealth and America appears to be another great source tracing some history of plutocracy in this country and detailing it in more recent years. Curiously, it was written by a Republican (former?), Kevin Phillips.
The site would also encourage the creation of a progressive movement, maybe we could call The New American Progressive Movement. We would build chapters, educate the population and do creative protests (not the same old bullshit demos, something more gripping and reaching out to the corporate media by creative theatrical approaches.
Idea would be to build a new movement based on FDR’s 2nd Bill of Rights, or a modified version of it which would include, of course, progressive income tax reform as an example (back to 91% tax on highest bracket as existed in Eisenhower years. There are advantages to using FDR’s 2nd Bill of Rights, but this would be subject to more discussion and debate.
Movement would be singular attack on undemocratic nature of our govt., very focused, not muli-issue for now at least. This would NOT be a party and there are strategic reasons for that, but the obvious reason is that masses of persons need to become educated and informed.
We would develop an activist approach to encourage Americans to divest themselves of supporting, for example, banks (switching to credit unions instead.
I also think (and most people have a problem with this) that we should organize a boycott of Federal Elections to draw attention to the fact that the elections are inherently unfair. We would demand a Voters Bill of Rights such as including voting on Sunday, instead, for example. The others are obvious as well. A boycott, done right, would draw a lot of criticism and, thus, attention. Boycotts can be effective.
I have argued on Smirking Chimp that all progressive thinkers want to do is write, but there appears to be little effort to build a mass movement.
Anyway, that’s initially what I have to say. I am been throwing this out there on Smirking Chimp, for example, but no constructive response thus far. I think this is a sign that the Left is too comfortable, too lazy, feeling impotent of course, etc.
But this is a good time to organize.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your thoughtful remarks. You’re right, it’s time to organize which means putting together a structure that is based on the desires of the people, which are universal in many respects – fair rules for workers and businesses, a first rate education for everybody, health care, etc. When people realize that this is all eminently affordable, they agree fairly quickly. The trick is to get a broad base to start with the assumption that this is the way it will be and also give them the power to shut out the stream of lies that is so overwhelming.
The reason I write is to get that message out in the form of people understanding the obvious – the only impediment to this is those who control damn near everything, including the media. I like SmirkingChimp a lot. I find that when I post on Obama (not that frequently) or some personality or particular events, I get about 4 x’s the hits than when I do the real educational pieces. Nevertheless, that’s what needs to be distilled and simplified (I’m working on that now).
In terms of a web site and the beginnings of an organization, that’s a place to start. I’d gladly contribute anything I write to such a site and other efforts depending on what the focus was for action.
Your sources are some that I’m familiar with. Phillips is first rate. He’s making up for his brief period of brilliance as a Nixon strategist and he’s done that in spades. Dumhoff’s site is great. I really like Emmanuel Saez and his work. Great starting point to simplify findings important to just about everybody.
Keep me posted.
